British oil and gas explorer Cairn Energy has failed to find commercially viable gas at its offshore field in Bangladesh.
Drilling at the well in the Bay of Bengal began in October; but the firm will now relocate its rig. Cairn, headed by Sir Bill Gammell, returned to the FTSE 100 this month after being booted out earlier in the year.
