The Campaign Against Censorship is an action platform of over 300 Indian documentary filmmakers who came together in August 2003 to protest the attempt by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to make censor certificates a mandatory precondition for Indian documentaries entered into the Mumbai International Film Festival.
In an unprecedented display of collective resistance filmmakers from across the country organized the Campaign Against Censorship, and were successful in forcing the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to drop its attempts to introduce censor certification for the festival.
